Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the Golf Green Reading Simulator operated by Suree Golf Lab. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any information associated with your use of this Site.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Suree Golf Lab ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit the Golf Green Reading Simulator at https://golf.suree.org (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We are committed to handling any data associated with your use of the Site in a transparent and respectful manner. This policy is written in plain language so that you can make informed choices about the information you share.
Information We Collect
We collect two categories of information: data stored locally on your device, and anonymous usage data collected by third-party services.
Local device storage: The simulator saves two items to your browser's localStorage — your locale preference (English or Chinese) and the state of the expert-controls panel (expanded or collapsed). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server. It contains no personally identifiable information.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4): We use GA4 to understand how visitors interact with the Site. GA4 collects anonymised data including page views, session duration, device type, approximate geographic region (at country level), and events such as simulator runs or training stage changes. Your full IP address is not stored. GA4 data is processed by Google under their own privacy policy.
Google AdSense: We display advertisements via Google AdSense. AdSense uses cookies to serve ads that may be personalised based on your browsing history across the web. If you prefer non-personalised ads, you can opt out through Google's Ad Settings or by using a browser extension that disables advertising cookies.
Vercel Analytics: Our hosting provider, Vercel, collects anonymised performance metrics such as page load times and Core Web Vitals scores. These metrics help us improve site performance and contain no personally identifiable information.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to site owners.
The Site itself does not set first-party cookies. However, our third-party services — Google Analytics and Google AdSense — set their own cookies. GA4 uses cookies named _ga and _gid (among others) to distinguish users and sessions. AdSense uses cookies to remember your ad preferences and to limit how often you see the same advertisement.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, accept only certain cookies, or delete existing cookies. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some third-party services on the Site, including analytics and advertising.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
Google Analytics 4 — analytics.google.com/analytics: Provides usage analytics. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Google AdSense — adsense.google.com: Delivers advertising on the Site. Governed by the same Google Privacy Policy.
Vercel — vercel.com: Provides hosting and edge delivery. Vercel's privacy policy is available at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
Data Retention
localStorage data (locale and expert-controls state) persists on your device until you clear your browser's site data or use a private browsing session. You can delete this data at any time by clearing your browser cache.
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted from Google's servers. AdSense cookie data follows Google's standard retention schedules. Vercel analytics data is retained according to Vercel's data retention policy.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding personal data. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), if you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export any personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing activities.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete that information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
Because the Site collects very little data that could be considered personal, most requests can be fulfilled by clearing your browser's localStorage. For any requests related to data held by third-party services, please contact those services directly. You may also contact us at the address below.
Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
